The Cheapest Professional Email Setup for an LLC or Side Project (2026)

Most new businesses need to receive at a professional address immediately (banks, registrars, customers) and send from it occasionally. That distinction matters, because receiving is easy to get for free, while sending from your domain is where free options demand setup work. Decide which you need this month — you can add sending later.

Move your domain’s DNS to Cloudflare (free), enable Email Routing, and forward info@ to your personal Gmail. Receiving: solved, at zero cost. Zoho Mail’s entry tier, and similar offers from iCloud+ (custom email domain) or budget hosts, get you a real standalone mailbox for roughly a dollar or three a month. This is the cheapest way to have genuine webmail and IMAP under your own domain. The catch: it’s another inbox to check, DNS setup (MX, SPF, DKIM) is on you, and if the mailbox provider isn’t also handling your deliverability records, your first emails may land in spam — see the 15-minute spam fix before you send anything important.

The default answer, and an honest one once you have employees: Workspace and Microsoft 365 entry plans run at roughly $6–8 per user per month, and you get the full suite — real Gmail/Outlook under your domain, calendars, drive, admin controls. The catch for a solo LLC: you’re paying per seat for a suite you may already have personally, and every extra alias-with-its-own-login is another seat. Fine at 5 people; overkill on day one.
