Create a business email on Cloudflare in 10 seconds
If your domain is on Cloudflare, getting an address like info@yourdomain.com is a one-time connection plus two clicks. No forwarding setup, no confirmation email, no MX records typed by hand — the system does all of it. Available on Starter and above.
1 · Connect your Cloudflare account (one time)
- Panel → Inboxes → Connect inbox → Connect Cloudflare.
- The Cloudflare token page opens with the name, zone and DNS parts pre-filled. Press + Add more and add two permissions yourself: Zone → Email Routing Rules → Edit and Account → Email Routing Addresses → Edit (Cloudflare's link can't pre-fill these). Then Continue to summary → Create Token.
- Copy the token shown, come back to the panel, paste it, and press Connect.
- The token asks for exactly three permissions: zone read, email routing, and DNS edit. It can't touch anything else in your account, and we store it encrypted.
2 · Create the address
- Type the local part of the address: info, support, hello — whatever you want.
- Pick the domain from the list (all your Cloudflare domains appear automatically).
- Press Create. That's it — the system sets up everything including MX and verification, and auto-approves the confirmation Cloudflare requires.
3 · Live within 10 seconds
- The address goes live in about 10 seconds; you'll see it marked ready on screen.
- To test, send a mail to your new address from another account — it lands at your notification address within seconds.
- To answer, just hit Reply on the notification; your reply goes out from info@yourdomain.com (details: /docs/replying).
Already using Cloudflare Email Routing? Import
- The Import section on the Connect inbox screen lists the routing rules you already have in Cloudflare.
- Pick the ones you want with one click — each becomes its own inbox in the panel, with notifications and replying working immediately.
- Your rules on the Cloudflare side aren't broken; their destinations simply flow through us.
Connection lost? Reconnect
- If you deleted the token in Cloudflare or it expired, your inboxes keep receiving mail — but creating new addresses and automatic DNS fixes stop working.
- Press Reconnect on the Inboxes page and repeat the token flow from step 1 — your existing inboxes stay exactly as they are.
Something wrong? Real errors and their fixes
A “missing Account permission”-style error when pasting the token
One of the four permissions got skipped — most often the account-level Email Routing Addresses one. Fix: open the token in Cloudflare (My Profile → API Tokens → Edit) and make sure all four are present: Zone Read, DNS Edit, Zone → Email Routing Rules Edit, and Account → Email Routing Addresses Edit.
My domain doesn't show up in the list
The token may have been created in a different Cloudflare account than the one holding your domain (the most common cause if you have several accounts). Sign in to the right account, create the token again, and connect via Reconnect.
The address was created but no mail arrives
The domain may have old MX records conflicting with Email Routing. The Deliverability page detects this and shows the fix — and since Cloudflare is connected, Fix automatically applies it in one click (see /docs/deliverability-guide).
