Invoices, card, cancellation: all self-serve
- Payments run through Polar — the merchant of record, meaning Polar formally issues the invoice and handles taxes. Your card details never touch us.
- Panel → Billing → Manage billing: download invoices, change your card, upgrade/downgrade, or cancel — without writing to anyone.
- On cancellation, everything you paid for keeps working until the end of the period; after that, the “inbox pausing” rules below apply.
What happens when a payment fails?
- No panic: your inboxes KEEP RECEIVING MAIL — notifications don't stop.
- Only the paid features pause (e.g. AI auto-reply, Fix automatically).
- The moment you update your card in Manage billing, everything switches back on instantly — no waiting, no support ticket, no re-setup.
When a subscription ends: inbox pausing
- Downgrading or letting a subscription lapse never deletes your inboxes.
- As many inboxes as your new limit allows keep working — your oldest inboxes take priority.
- Inboxes above the limit PAUSE: mail to those addresses doesn't vanish silently — it bounces back to the sender VISIBLY, so they know it didn't arrive.
- Upgrade again and the paused inboxes come back exactly as they were.
Your data is yours: export and deletion
- From Settings → Your data you can export everything — your inboxes, mail, and activity history included.
- The same place lets you permanently delete your account and all its data; deletion cannot be undone.
- If you're leaving, run the export first — deleted data can't be recovered.
Frequently asked
What if I upgrade mid-cycle?
When you upgrade via Manage billing, Polar prorates the difference against your remaining period — you never pay twice. The new limits and features unlock immediately.
I got a new card — does my subscription get cancelled?
No — just add the new card in Manage billing; the subscription continues uninterrupted. Even if a payment already failed, it's retried automatically once the card is updated and features come back instantly.
I cancelled but still see the paid features
That's correct behavior: cancellation takes effect at the end of the period — you use what you paid for to the last day. When the period ends, the plan drops to Free and the inbox-pausing rules apply.
My invoice doesn't show my company details
Polar issues the invoice; add your company name and tax details in the billing settings inside Manage billing — subsequent invoices will carry them.
